Ryuuzaki Says: You is no beginner. =b Very nice strong lines, good ink/line art. Ehhh...since you didn't specify anything you
wanted critiqued...I'm just gonna say my first impressions (and second impressions :D), k?
I think you've got a great grasp on contrast and line art there, good action-type poses and such too. Nice
original battle suit type things for the guy. :D I also think a bit of shading would add a lot more depth into a
picture. =) Solid black and white pictures tend to look really flat, so even some rough cross-hatching makes
a picture look that much better. (I've seen it in some of my friend's art.)
One thing kinda bothers me though...everything in your picture is very strong: the contrast, the lines, the
tough facial expression...but the hands kind of...don't match. =) They look kinda thin and flimsy compared to
the big palms and legs...perhaps making the fingers look thicker and stronger would complete the effect of
toughness in this picture? Yes, hands are hard to do...I still have trouble with hands too...just something an
artist has to deal with. :D
Ye say you're bored at work, so this's probably just some doodle...dunno how much effort you put into this
thing, but after seeing this I'm very interested in seeing what kind of higher quality or colored art you can do.
=) Hope ya find the time to submit something like that! (bring some more art supplies to work to counter
your boredom :D).

Woo~ Dramatic, especially since it's in black and white. Let's see...you didn't specify anything in particular
that you wanted critiqued, so I guess I'll just blab a bit. ^^
At first glance-over, very nice strong pic. Clean lines, apparent that it's three versions of the same person,
etc. With a closer look, though, it's a bit hard to tell where each of the three versions starts and ends. The
heads, torsoes, and legs are pretty distinct, but then the middle one seems to be missing his right (my left)
leg. Oh wait, I found it, I think. Raised up to hip level and bent at the knee? ^^ Perhaps only shading half
of it would serve to make it stand out more, and seem like a part of the middle person's body, instead of the
left-hand person's body.
With such bold black and white work, it's very important to pay careful attention to the linework and
block-shading. Keeping the very thin lines of white between two blocks of black nice and straight, neat, and
even are very important. Makes the picture look more "finished." The same thing goes for the regular black
linework. Since the overall look doesn't have that "sketchy" look, it's important to keep all the lines neat and
clean, no matter how obscured or tiny they might be.
Also, you've got excellent lines and form for much of the armor and face and hair, etc. If you added a bit
more "shape" to the hands and fingers that are visible, the overall look of the picture would improve. Although
the hair is curved, the overall impression seems to be that of stiff, straight, strong lines. So maybe you can
apply that to the hands as well...add knuckles and joints, and make the lines "harder."
Great pic! ^^ Sorry you're bored at work, but at least you can doodle~ Keep it up!
