Specialty in Art: people
Specialty in Medium: No. 2 Pencil
Self-estimated level: intermediate
Artist's Comments: I consider myself to be an intermediate artist, and I don't think I'll ever become advanced because I can always learn something new and make my next piece of work better than the last. Once I stop improving, then I'll be advanced.

Lorelai Says: Ehhh very cute! Your portrait of Cloud is almost SD-ish, but his body size is not SD. Ye hafta
choose which style you want. Also, you are misjudging the size of hands. A hand, spread wide, can cover your face.
In FF7, the figures were anime, but their hands were exceptionally large and I do believe Cloud's hand could have
covered his face...almost. I also recommend some study on anatomy...you don't have to study the whole body, just
arms and legs, and face structure cuz there are the most exposed parts of the body that we illustrate most often.
And, as I've been telling all my critiquees lately, sign your picture subtly, especially if it is just an unfinished
sketch. There is no bigger turn-off than a flourished signature on a sketch...because a a big proud signature marks
an artwork as finished, done, perfect, all-I-can-ever-do. adn sketches are studies, not finished works. Otherwise, I
believe you are a very talented artist and are well on the way to a road of great improvement and stardom =)

Sandara-3 Says: when you work with pencils, you should not use just a 2B pencil. unless you're doing
sketches, like one of the fellow artists Genocid. it restricts your shading, eg. the bottom of Cloud's pants. that
extreme dark area jarrs the whole image. work on the posing. Swords are usually not held like that. other than that,
good expression on cloud's face. the next step to take will be to ink and color your pictures.

Young Wang Says: Indeed, it is true one can always learn more when drawing..
however, I think for me, being 'advanced' means that others appreciate
your work enough that they wanna pay for it. =} Money is the ultimate
guide for value because it's the easiest to measure =} About the pic.
Hrm.. I'm not sure which sword that is. It seems awfully wide. Was that
the ultimate weapon he had? It's been a while since I played FF7 =} His
proportions aren't bad, but I think if you put more of a tilt to his
shoulders, his 'right' shoulder (the one further from us) tilted up more
past his left shoulder, the picture would look more dynamic. Gosh, I use
that word a lot. Dynamic means more 'dramatic', I guess. Anyway. Hrm..
also, I think he left hand (the one along the blade of the sword) looks
too small in comparison to the rest of him... it makes him look very
young. Nice eyes... I think there's an extra 'bang' of hair on the top
that can be removed and the pic would look better, IMO. =} That 'glimmer'
along the blade at the bottom should also have longer 'tails', so it looks
more like a glimmer, not a crosshair =}
