Young Wang Says: Color pencils! Ick! I'm not very good with physical mediums =} CG is much cleaner and nicer for me. =} In general, the pic is OK. I think her eyes should be higher up and should have more depth. Right now, her eyes look like stickers placed on her head if her head were flat... and they do need to be higher up because it looks like the stickers are slipping =} Her.. um.. butt.. looks a little flat too. =} The coloring I probably don't have much right to comment on.. since I suck with color pencils myself. =}

Meriko Says: Bunny~ How cute! *^^* And Tifa's looking very stylish, I must say. ^o^ Let's see..."anything to help you out." ^^ First off, the colors you picked are great, but I'd love to see you go wild with shading and highlighting. ^^ With pencils, you can't add lighter colors for highlights, so what I do is to start off with shadows and then work my way lighter, leaving entirely white parts where I think highlights should go. Feel free to shade really light, and then just layer as you go. Add darker hues on top to really make the shadows stand out. And a Q-tip does wonders for blending!!! Just make sure you use a different Q-tip for each color. ^^;;; She's very pretty, but the face is just a wee bit...off, somehow. The oval split into quarters method works pretty well for most people. Draw a vague oval shape for the head, and then draw a curve along it from top to bottom, following the general shape of the oval itself. That's the line on which the nose rests, and the lips should line up with it, too. Then another line should be draw horizontally across the oval (not straight, but following the curve of the oval.) This is where the eyes rest. Oh, and...her fingers seem to be melted together at the end? ^^ I know some artists only define outlines on figures, but the rest of her seems to be pretty well defined by lines...ye might want to separate her fingers for this piccie. And one last tip...practice! ^^ Good job!!!

Dragonfly Says: Hoi Michelle! Looking at your piece, I can see a few areas I think you can improve on that'll help you out. Firstly, I think It'll be great if you worked on your detals a lot more, like the way you did your ear for example, adding a lot more detail, like the inside part of the ear would help immensly. Also the way the fingers on your hands join together, I think making sure each finger was seperate, would better define the fingers. Best thing you can do, if you love drawing people, is to draw from life. Grab some magazines, and draw what you see. Once you have your proportions pretty much set, you can go in and work on your style, adding anime touches, etc.

Onto the coloring, I think the coloring is okay. You should work on defining your shadows a lot more, especially on your skin tones. Overall, the coloring looks fairly quick and simple, I'm not too sure if you were going for a cell type coloring, or realistic type coloring? From the look of things, I think you were going for a realistic approach. For this, you'll need to blend you colors a lot more. The easiest way to do this, is to start lightly, and build up your shadows. Try using an eraser to add white highlights to the piece as well, it might help give an interesting effect.

Anyway just work on those thigns I said, and I think you will see a lot of improvment in your art. I think the best part on this piece is the white rabbit you did ^^ It looks really cool!
