Artist's Comments: Well, it´s the latest pic I´ve coloured with the computer...I still have to learn shadings and lightenings, I suppose...Also how to make clothes look more realistic, but I´ll try one picture for that later on, I suppose ;)

Deranged Laine Says: for some strange reason , i feel hungry looking at the green chick ! O_o ( must be coz it's midnight now...nevermind ! ) About lighting, methinks there needs to be more contrast for one , and another thing is to have an idea where the light is coming from . eg. the shadow on her face implies the light is coming from the right , yet if you look at the arm it looks like the light is coming from the left ! to make clothes look more real , i recommend custom brushes if you're into CG :D these are especially good for things like fur and spottiness on worn clothing.

other things that could use a little correcting are the fists which are a weeee bit small , she's gotta need some strength to hold that scary weapon ne ? XD hm..the hair on our top left looks a bit to little too...keep in mind how her head still takes up space ; thus the hair needs to be ..expanded a bit more ^^;

Evil Tiger Says: Hi hi~ SnesGirl!

Woo~! Nice drawing, the line art looks really neat and clean... ^_^ The choice of colours is nice too.

You have a pretty good start here with shading and lighting, it's just that the source of light is not consistent. It looks as if the light is coming from the right for her head, and from the left for her body. That's not a big problem though, you just need to remember the light source, draw an arrow even, if it'll help you remember.

To make the clothes look more real, add some wrinkles! :D Always go to the real thing when you have trouble with it, so in this case, you can look at your own cloths in the mirror or look at someone else's. A little more practice with figure drawing is good too, work on proportions and shape of the figure. ^_^ Practice by drawing yourself from the mirror, or the people around you while you wait for bus? ^^

In here, her head looks big compared to the rest of her body... ^^ When drawing people, I suggest first drawing the pose in circles and lines, then drawing in the details. That way you can figure out the proportions without erasing too much. Hope this helps~! ^_^

Meriko Says: Woo~ Pretty green chicklet~ ^^ She looks a bit confused. *hee* Okay, ye mentioned shading/highlighting and clothing. Hmm, yes, the light source is hard to pin down. For her face, it looks like it's upper right, for her throat, it looks like lower-mid left, and for her arms it looks like viewer. ^^;;; When shading, try to keep focused on one light source. If it's upper right corner, like for the face, then just shade consistently on the lower left curve of things. It might be confusing sometimes when you find yourself completely shading in portions like...maybe her stomach and right (your left) arm. But just remember...not everything has to have both highlights and shadows. Depending on where light hits, an arm or leg might be completely in shadows. And a general tip on clothing: Wrinkles!!! ^^ Wrinkles, texture, and nice, bold highlighting/shading really served to bring out clothing. Magazine photos and your own image in a full-length mirror can help when trying to figure out where knee-creases point in jeans, etc. Oh, and then one more detail...ye might want to practice body-drawing by using the circles & ovals method of sketching bodies out. An oval for the face, a column for the neck, etc. When you're doing simple circles, it's easier to keep things proportionate because you're not worrying about little details like noses and cheekbones yet. ^^ Very cute artwork overall~ Keep up the good work!!!
