Artist's Comments: Well, here's an original character I've drawn for a set of stories I currently am writing. I messed up a few things while inking this--I'll point out because that's why the ear is wrong and that piece of hair above it is too.

Young Wang Says: It's a very simplistic looking picture.. not that it's a
bad thing. =} The lines seem awfully thick for such a big picture.. so it leads me
to believe the image was either done with a thick pen or scanned in at a very high
resolution off a very small image. Her clothing also lacks many defining lines,
but there are wrinkles in the clothes drawn in on the contours. It's hard to
'critique'.. but it seems like a pretty good picture.. there just needs to be
"more", I guess. =} If you colored it in photoshop and lowered the picture size, I
think it could look better =}

Dragonfly Says: Hi Terra~
First thing that comes to mind with this piece, is the inking you used. I'm not to
sure what you're using, but I think that It's too thick for inking. I think if you
used a thinner pen, then the linework would look a lot better. Now onto the piece
itself. I like the simple linework you've used, but the problem I see is mainly in
the details in the face. Firstly her eye is placed to close to the eyebrow. Another
point is the nose, I'd look at making it more prominent then you have it here. The
next area would be the mouth, once again, It's details are a little hard to make
out. Lastly would be the chin and the area leading up the her ear. The way it digs
into the face is something that it shouldn't be doing. The curve you have, should
be opposite really to the way you have it shown here. I also think continuing the
line up to her eye, would make the piece look a lot better.
I think most of these problems are caused mostly from the inking, rather then the
penciling. That said, I think if you develop the details a lot more, then I think
your art will start to look a lot better.
