Artist's Comments: How could I improve my shading and proportions?(Excluding that left forearm, I already noticed that it's too long. @_@) Um, well, I know FF7-themed fanarts are common. Gomen. She's just cool, IMO. :) There are some mistakes in this; let it be a lesson not to draw at 1am on a school night. ^_^; I AM pleased with some of the blending of colours, though. Please critique away, because I really need it! ;)

Merle Says: A-chaaan! Aerith-samaa! It's actually a nice pic.. I think her
belly seems a little flat.. and her eyes seem too square =} The background is quite
nice with color pencils, but you may wanna use a blending pencil to get the colors
to blend =} Otherwise, it looks very impressionistic. =} Myao.

Ryuuzaki Says: I love your colors! They're so strong and vibrant, especially
in the sky. ^^ And a very nice basket too. ^O^ So, all ye hafta work on is Aeris
and scenery (heh heh, ALL ye hafta work on...that's most of the picture isn't it?
=b).
I'll start with the scenery. Mountains aren't all triangles. =) They're rather
complicated actually, unless you draw some green rolling hills. But then again they
aren't mountains. Next time you try to draw mountains, get a photo of em to help
you with their general shape and shading. Also, your perspective needs a little
work. Mountains should be a lot higher than Aeris, unless she's on top of one
herself. I see that a few of the peaks are level with her, and it looks rather odd.
Other than that, it looks nice, your colors are very pretty. ^^
Now, onto Aeris. Hmm...looks like we need some work on anatomy too. ^_^ Ye should
take a look at some pictures to get the hang of face shape. Aeris's face looks
kinda flat at the top. Also, her right eye looks like it's goin around to the other
side of her face. At 3/4 view, the right eye should be short so that it fits on
that side of her face. It's called...foreshortening! ^o^ When you get really close
to profile view her eye will look like that (around the corner), but at this view
it shouldn't. Heh...hands. I still can't get em right either. All I can tell you is
to look at your own hand and try to copy it onto paper. =b If I can't get a hand to
look right in one of my drawings, I put my own hand in that pose and copy it. Your
general proportions are fine, just try to clean up the black lines a little (her
right arm has an X in it!).
Ok, that's all your homework for now. ^_^
