Artist's Comments: This is my first CG that I did on my own, no going by a tutorial or something. I'm still learning a lot about CG techniques. Also, any advice on the proportions, just know that I HATE hands.

Juno Says: Hoiiii, Kari~! I must say, this is awesome for a first CG XD You
use bright and clean colors, which is always a plus if you want to attract
attention :D The expression is great... the eyes stand out beautifully. I also see
that you understand how hair works: it falls in "clumps" ^_^ Overall, the
proportioning is fine, though I would suggest that you lower Justin's hip a bit,
which will make him look taller and also a bit on the leaner side (which is usually
quite pleasant. ^^) I've also noticed that you're getting a knack for cloth folds
and such, which is good. Keep in mind, though, that cloth folds are best
represented as a "3D" object... when you're drawing cloth folds, focus on the
RATIONALITY of how it falls. In other words, keep the lines to a minimum if
possible (unless the cloth is really wrinkly) and it'll give you a more smashing
and impressive effect. All artists will probably agree with you that hands ARE hard
to draw. Justin's hand could use highlights at the knuckles, so it looks as if he
is clenchin his fist. :D Dun worry though, all it takes is practice. ^_^ Once
again, keep lines on the body(skin) to a minimum as well to produce a more
realistic effect. On a last note regarding the face: the eyes are beautifully done,
and well-aligned. You could make them stand out more if you shrank his nose, and
lower his nostril. ^_^
Well done, Kari~! Keep up the marvelous work. :D Ciao for now!

Ryuuzaki Says: That's some nice coloring you got going there! I guess the
two biggest things you need to work on are human figure and drapery (the 2 hardest
for most people, don't feel bad :D) And, the only thing you can do to practice/
learn is to trace or copy at first. Out of magazines/comics/pictures, or using
real objects/people.
For drapery, you should experiment with a piece of cloth at first. Hang it on
anything. The biggest thing about drapery is to figure out where the tension
points on the cloth are (where it hangs from or is pulled from), and then draw the
folds accordingly.
For human figure, all you can do is look at muscle and bone structure, and
proportions. They're generally the same for all males, except the really fat or
really buff ones. Yup, just get a feel for the general shape of each limb. The
only thing wrong with proportion in your picture is in the torso and arms: they're
a little bit too short. Other than that, it's mainly generalities in human figure
and drapery.
Good luck in your artistic endeavors!

Laine Says: what a cool URL , spuuuuds ! i name my filenames spuds too ^0^
it's a good CG , better than my attempt without tutorials ne ! lemee schee...his
eyes need a litte work..maybe thicken his eyelashes ? study anime pics you like and
ask yourself what is different in the picture and what it has in the picture that
your picture lacks ? hm...his hand looks a litte skewed...a bitty small for a manly
justin to fight baddie polyons ne ! XP folds could do a little work too...i dont
know of anyway to improve with folds except to practice them and observe them .
good work with the hair tho ~ he really looks fiery with passion =D gambare ne ^^
