Merle Says: Nice Miyu-sama! Very ethereal looking. I haven't had a chance to see the new TV Miyu, but I watched the OAVs ages ago and thought they were cool, though, a bit cryptic. =} I can't think of any real critiques for this pic.. it looks nice the way it is, except for her hair.. there are some white patches in her hair that seem off. Some of the shading in her outfit should be a different color other than black, but it makes her look ethereal (like mentioned before) and I think that's a good thing. =}

Kitsune Says: Hoi Yingster~! This is a great mouse-CG of Miyu fanart~! Even though the effect is a little "blurry" because of the mouse work, I think it fits perfectly with the mood of the piece.. It feels like she's stepping through the darkness in an ethereal glow. Very very nice. ^__^

As far as I know of, there isn't really an *easy* way to CG with a mouse. It take a lot of time, a lot of patience, and a lot of self-control. ^_^;; People like Laine may be able to give you some advice. She's gone a great number of CGs.. I think she used in Photoshop the path tool.. she also works at a high resolution for better results when shrunk down to size.

What you might want to consider for other CG projects is to up the contrast. Darken the darks and lighten the lights. For this particular piece though, the ambiguity of the light source adds to the mood. ^_^ Great work!!

Setsuna Says: Wow! Very nice dark theme ... instant mood setting. Miyu has a very ghostly look here that really fits in. Though you could very well get away with what you have here, I'd recommend that you consider adding some small shiny highlights for her hair to add some depth. Also, upping the contrast on her clothing and skin (perhaps either adding some more dark shadow to heighten the effect of the background, or adding more white in highlight areas to make her seem to 'glow') will help you achieve a more polished look.
