Artist's Comments:I know that her legs look very weird, but I don't know what is wrong with them. I really like how I colored this; color pencils, water colors and markers. Also the face looks bit like SD, but the body doesn't.

Setsuna Says: It's not her legs that look weird (they look fine in their position) But I think it's that you forgot to have her skirt drape upwards with her thigh. As it is now, it looks like it's cutting off her leg. So, you can fix this by just starting from slit in the skirt - redraw the straight slit into a curved one, following the curvig line of her body.

Other things to work on might be your foot structure. My best advice is to practice from real life - Take some time to look in front of a large mirror, turning your own foot around into the position you want to draw this character, and copy what you see into your image.

Meriko Says: Cute! *^o^* Feena's chara design is so adorable, and your picture just totally captures that whole...cuteness thing. *lol*

Let's see...the legs. Maybe you just want some more realism to it? It doesn't have to be "real" looking...just pay attention to the various curves and lines in a leg. (Lookit your own legs or magazine photos.) Her knee is a little pointy- looking...try delineating the kneecap. And I see that you've given her nice calf muscles, but on most legs, the calves don't go all the way down to the ankle area. Try nipping them in a little higher.

Another thing that really helps to shape a character's body is the way you draw the clothes over it. Putting little wrinkles and folds into clothes really helps the eye to see how the body underneath is shaped. For this pic, perhaps a line or two in her skirt where her leg bends would help. Same with her sleeve. When you raise your arm, you usually get a wrinkle or two in the sleeve, coming from the armpit and extending out towards the elbow. Try posing in front of the mirror...that always helps me when I'm trying to get the wrinkles in clothes right.

Good work! VERY cute... ^^b

Ryuuzaki Says: Hi there! Welp, the reason her legs look kinda funny is cuz she's got a sharp angle at her knee and her calf doesn't curve right. The leg placement is just fine, you just might want to take a look at leg shape.

The reason why her face may look kind of SD is cuz it's really round. SD incorporates a lot of roundedness and well...eh...fatness? :D I dunno how else to say it. =) Her face is too rounded to show the more suttle facial features when you look at a person in 3/4 or profile view. Everything's just smoothed out. Her forehead should be more prominent and slope inward toward her eyes, then outward to the nose. Chin should much further out, unless she's touching her chin to her neck. I'm glad you asked about human figure and not coloring! :D Great job and keep workin at it!
