Hanna Says: Hey there Calis! What a great portrait of Id you've got there! I really like how you put a lot of detail in his hair and outfit, and you did a great job capturing the mood. The overall form is almost perfect, the only one thing that stands out are the eyes, they're not exactly the same size, the left eye seems slightly bigger. (I always run into this problem too... -_-) A way to avoid this is by holding the drawing to a mirror when you're still drawing, and check your drawing from the mirror. You'll be surprised how different it will look! XD Then you can go back and fix things that seems odd to you. If you want to make the drawing to look a bit more realistic, add some highlight where it's needed, examples would be his hair and those plates on his outfit.
Last, this is not all that important but you might be interested. It's about the composition of this piece. The strand of hair in front of his face seems to break the 'flow' in the drawing, it also seem to cover the corner of his mouth. I think his mouth is important when it comes to expressing his personality, by covering it up, the overall impact might not turn out to be as strong. ^_^ (This could be fixed by moving that strand of hair more to the right... ^^) But those are little things, so don't worry too much about it. Good job!

Lorelai Says: Wow, your Id picture really captured the essence of the character! his hair is very fluid, his grin is confident and calm, exactly how he was portrayed in the game! I also like the subtle pencil techniques you used, though you could have shaded more smoothly instead of in panels (i.e. his clothes). As I recall, his attire was in, like, "plates," so those have a really high shine, as well as lots of nooks and crannies.
If you were aiming for a portrait of Id, you've hit the mark. But I think it's time you can go on to the next stage! I've noticed that Id's pose is that of his character portrait, almost exactly identical. While this is a great way to learn how to draw a character, fan artwork is more about being original. Now that you've sketched Id's chara portrait, try sketching him in another position, or better yet, in a scene with some more characters!

Sandara-3 Says: Hi! There is not enough shading in your picture. the light and dark areas are too defined, making the picture look stiff and flat. uhm... i don't know what pencils you have used, but it's a good idea to buy 6B, 4B and 2B pencils and use them all in your picture. also, give the hair some highlights ( light areas: could leave them white ) so his hair will look nice and glossy. ^_^

Keiiii Says: Bishounen Id =D~~~ (Sorry, couldn't help ^_-)
Showing your own style in a simple faceshot portrait is difficult, but you
have done it very well. To enhance your drawings, you need shading. Since
your pic is in black and white, it can be more difficult to make it look
alive than color works. You really need to use all the options in black and
white! In other words, use all greys, black, and white. For example, adding
some highlights of white would certainly make Id's hair and armors(?) look
better.
Pencil stroke is another important factor in black and white works. It's
most noticeable in hair. Picture all the individual hair strands flowing in
your mind, then try to follow the strands as you're shading. Try not to use
a series of choppy lines to make one long line, especially if you want to
make it look nice and flowy. Hope this helps ^_^
