 Setsuna Says: Overall, I'm completely wowed by your nice, clean coloring job, except that you seem to have run into some problems with Rinoa's interesting hair dye. As it is now, it kinda looks too stripey to be organic looking (er, natural), more like the lines were laid down on top of the hair. I would suggest that you smudge it or feather the stripes somehow so that it looks more like it's a part of her hair. Also, though you DO have shading for Quistis's skin, I can't see it except when I get really up close and personal with my monitor. Maybe it's just the color or gamma on my screen, but I'd suggest that you up the contrast on her skin.
Kudos to you for including varying line widths on Quistis' nose, and eyelashes in both the women. I'd like to see more of that - using bolder lines for the outline of the figures, and more delicate lines inside the figure.
Suggestions for the background? Just anything that will place this pair in a location is good. Somewhere that would evoke the playful pose of the duo. Maybe posing outside, at the beach? At an amusement park? At Balamb Garden?

Hmmmm.. good linework, good proportions, as for the coloring.. hmmmm.. it's not too bad. Some more contrast in the coloring would help a lot if you want to go that route... or you can go the more "delicate" and "softer" look by taking out the more.. contrasting elements.. such as the black hair... I know it's suppost to be black.. but that can be lighten up a bit to fit the effect. The yellow hightlights on her hair too... it doesn't quite make sense and it contrasting with the rest of the hair.
Overal.. nice composition... and good hands.. !

I've gotta say this is a pretty good piece so far. I see you want some suggestions for the backgrounds?
I think maybe adding a city type background would be cool, although I have to say I've never played FF8 ^^;;;
But anyway I think you have a pretty good grasp on coloring so far, you just need to work more on your lightsources I think.
