REFF Ramble!

  Congratulations to Dormando, who was recently knighted a REFF at Anime Expo 2002! Here are some words from our new beloved coding lackey, along with comments from Ryuuzaki.

Greetings,

I am the new REFF around, it seems. One minute during Anime Expo 2002, Lorelai and Ryuuzaki were closing in on me with a metal object in their hands, and the next thing I see is the inside of a dumpster in lovely Long Beach. When I clambored out, a few people congratulated me on my "knighthood", and the girls ran off with my wallet.

In reality, I have been around TAC's community since february 2000. My webhosting service (rydia.net) has hosted the site since sometime after Otakon 2000. Some of you might recognize me as the old systems administrator of livejournal.com, or something else I have done. Certainly not an artist, but a code monkey. The limits of my artistic talents are drawing angry stick figures.

I have helped with various sections of the site for years, and have recently became the new "techie REFF" for recognition of my various code-requiring work. My new work will range from the ACS, the BBS, and the Oekaki. First order of business is the ACS. I have a wishlist of things to do, and probably should get to work on that, eheh.

Wish I had my wallet...

Lorelai and I shared a table at AX2002, so we had lots of time to poke jokes at each other and discuss TAC business. We met up with Dormando the first day, and from then on, he'd usually hang out behind our table with his super geek machine (aka a really nice laptop. ^o^;;) that could run on a...potato? (I think.) Being our wonderful administrator, coding buff and friend, he'd already agreed to help us rework our entire ACS system, since Young had been a little lacking time to fix code ever since he started his webcomic.

While watching Dorm actively work on our ACS behind our table, we suddenly stumbled upon the idea of finally crediting him for his work by knighting him a REFF. The proposal unanimously and enthusiastically passed (by the two of us) immediately. While we were resting after Artist Alley hours, Lorelai asked me for my laptop, and proceeded to knight Dormando on the shoulder with it. From then on, Dorm was known by all the REFFs as the-guy-TAC-has-dibs-on-for-coding. >:D OHOHOHOHOHO~~~ We threw a two-week party for him while he was visiting REFF central in California to celebrate his knighting. :D

It's only been two weeks since Dorm was offically given REFF duties, but he's done a buttload of work already!! Dorm is r0x0r!! ^O^;; If any of you are nerds who have problems getting girls, Dorm is a fine example for you to follow. He's loved by many REFFs (the majority of which are gorgeous Asian chicks - yes, Keiiii!! You too!!!!). ^O^;;;
